Got a job!! 🥰🥰🙏🏽

A few weeks ago I posted that I was terminated from my position for making typos. I was recently offered a position in the learning and development department for a company that’s a federal contractor. I will be working fully remote. I will be starting on Monday! The pay is higher than my previous job too. I’m really excited for this chapter. I want to say thank you to everyone that gave me support.

Job hunting can’t be this hard

I was terminated from my position due to making a few typos (using the wrong tense of a word & misspelling a word). It’s officially been a week since I’ve been terminated and today I decided to visit a few staffing agencies instead of just waiting for a phone call/ email thst might never come.

One staffing agency ask me to come in this morning for a general interview which it was so weird and confusing but I stayed. At the end she told me she doesn’t have any roles thst fits my background. Irritated and defeated, I left without asking any questions. I decided to visit a different staffing agency which online said they’re open but the office is closed. There was a sign on the door to call/text a number so of course I text it, no response. I came home but then decided to visit a career center 30 minutes away and that was good. It got some resources so I’m happy about that. Since I was in this new city, I decided to visit a staffing agency which said online they’re open. Got there- closed. Decided to visit another agency and the lady informs me to apply online and text a number informing them what positions I’m looking for. We briefly spoke about what positions I’m looking for and she told me about an in-house position. So I text the number. No response. Called, no answer. Called back, got someone and she tells me they have no HR/admin positions right now and the one they did have(the in house recruiter position )was filled.

I don’t remember communication being this difficult. I don’t remember getting a job was this difficult. I have four years of talent acquisition/ recruiter experience. Companies say they’re hiring but when you apply, it’s like your application falls into a dark abyss. Today I’m feeling defeated😔
