why do americans hate the british accent?

I’m a 17-year-old British girl from england, and I spend a lot of my free time playing video games. Most of the time I play with my brother or my friends, but sometimes I’ll end up playing with people I don’t know through random queue lobbies. Usually I don’t speak first, but if someone talks to me, I’ll talk back.
One thing I’ve noticed is that people on European servers are generally much nicer. They don’t really seem to care that I’m a girl or what my voice sounds like they’ll just play the game normally, joke around, and move on.
But whenever I queue into North American (NA) servers, it’s a completely different experience. A surprising number of people are really rude as soon as they hear me speak. I’ve had people immediately start swearing at me, calling me names, making sexist comments, or even leaving the game altogether just because they realised I was a girl or because of my accent. It’s happened often enough that I’ve started expecting it whenever I end up on NA servers, which is honestly kind of sad. 😭
I’m not saying every American player is like that, because obviously there are plenty of nice people too. It’s just something I’ve personally noticed after playing on both EU and NA servers. My experiences on EU servers have generally been much more positive, whereas NA servers seem to have a much higher chance of someone being unnecessarily hostile or toxic towards me for no reason other than my voice.
Has anyone else noticed this, or have I just been incredibly unlucky? I’m genuinely curious why my experience has been so different between the two regions.😭😭
