My first firearm: Shadow Systems XR920

My first firearm: Shadow Systems XR920

Light: Streamlight TLR7-X (FDE)

Optic: Viridian RFX35

I've fired around 2000 rounds of various ammunition without a single malfunction. I have nothing to compare it to, but I really enjoy their optic mounting system. The screws go so far into the slide and really cements the optic into place. The grip texture is basically 360 degrees, grippy, but not too grating even for long carry purposes.

Is it worth practically double the price of a Glock 19? I don't know, but I'm happy with it, it's American made, and their customer service seems good if I ever need them.

2026 CHL timeline in Multnomah County

Hey all,

New gun owner here. Picked up my first firearm back in February. Everyone I talk to has different stories for how long it takes to get your CHL, so I wanted to make this post here for other future newbies to stumble across.

I submitted my CHL application online on March 9th, booked a fingerprint appointment for March 31st, did not receive any updates about my application from the online portal until the license arrived in the mail, yesterday, on May 20th.

Roughly 2.5 months. Although, others have told everything from 6 months to a year for their license and others have told me they walked out of their fingerprint appointment with a new license, but I imagine a lot of that has to do with political swings.
