Got my first MA job

I got hired on as a float in the hospital system that I’m externing at, which is awesome! It will be a big upgrade for me from my current job.

However…

I’m externing in a specialty that only rooms patients and occasionally prepares instruments for procedures. We don’t assist with procedures, draw blood, do injections, etc.

So I’m pretty nervous about starting out as a float for when I go to my first clinic that does those things. I hope they’ll be kind and understanding when I say “I have never done an injection, can I watch on one before I do one?” Or “I haven’t don’t this since school, can you assist me?”.

Does anybody have similar experience? What is the general expectation of a brand new out of school MA?

Best way to study for NCCT exam?

I have the F.A Davis MA review book and have been studying that as well as doing practice quizzes online. My question is, other than reading and taking the practice quizzes, what are some good techniques? I have made some flash cards, done some highlighting, and taken some notes, but this book is so succinct I feel like I’m writing everything down lol
