I'm just getting used to the game and I usually manage to get into the top 50 in the stages I compete in, but yesterday I decided to try a rain race for the first time. I tried to do the forte rain stage in the first rally stage (event section). I managed 5.44 in about 4-5 attempts, but then I changed my driving style and, with more cautious and gentle braking, I managed 5.24. But I was still far from gold. The funny thing is, this incredibly slow lap was enough for me to finish 35th; I'm probably lower now, but I was in the top 50. Then I checked the rankings; the fastest time was probably 5.07, but it was still 4 seconds slower than the gold medal. Is there a problem with the rain physics, or do people just not drive in the rain?
I've been a motorsports fan since childhood, but for some reason, rally racing was never really my focus. When Assetto Corsa Evo didn't satisfy me, and frankly, online competition in other simulations started to get tiresome, I started looking for something new and finally had the opportunity to try AC Rally. My God, what a satisfying driving experience! I'm only driving a Mini Cooper for now, but I'm enjoying it immensely. I was a little skeptical about the content, but seeing the legendary rally cars arrive with each update is also great. Honestly, I never expected to have this kind of experience. I can't wait to get out of work and start driving; I haven't felt this way in years.
The more I learn about the game, the more I'm dying to try out this new 306.
