Zellers to open in Cambridge Centre

Zellers will be opening a 65,727 square footage store in Cambridge Centre in Cambridge, Ontario. This will be their fourth location under the Zellers 3.0 banner. Returning to the same mall it was once in, albeit taking over the lower level Bay space instead of the old Zellers space (which has been divided up among many tenants).

This location is the largest of the four, with the Edmonton Londonderry Mall location being around 60,000 square feet, and both Toronto and Windsor (which will be opening soon) hovering around 25,000-30,000 square feet. Seems like Zellers is listening to customer feedback and making the stores slightly bigger to compete with Giant Tiger and Walmart.

Zellers to bring back Restaurant through "Diner on Wheels"

According to their news release today, Zellers will be bringing back some restaurant offerings through the "Diner on Wheels", set to be there for the grand opening of the Toronto location.

ZELLERS LEANS INTO NOSTALGIA WITH 25 FT. INFLATABLE ZEDDY BEAR, THE INTRODUCTION OF THE ZELLERS DINER ON WHEELS, RETURN OF KIDDIE RIDES, AND MORE

Perhaps this means they are considering bringing back the diner permanently if this experiment goes well? It's nice to see them change their tone after the customer feedback with regards to bringing back the restaurant.
