Vfc HK53 cannot disassemble

Did I just get a lemon? My barrel/hop unit refuses to come out. It’s just straight up blocked. Some videos on YouTube show people just pull it out. Separately it looks like the front post might be slightly bent.

Any games with similar combat mechanics + good story?

Finished two play throughs and I love the cinematic style + combat. Anything else similar? I've already played Nier which I really liked. I've tried Sekiro but it just feels too slow + story is boring. Also tried wukong but no satisfying parry mechanic makes it feel less responsive. Everything I see either has no story or no parry mechanic. Just trying to find something before Stellarblade 2 or Phantom Blade 0 comes out lol
