Autonomic symptoms after antidepressants – looking for similar experiences

Hi everyone. I’m experiencing several symptoms that I believe may involve autonomic dysfunction after taking antidepressants, and I’m wondering if anyone here has experienced something similar.

I currently have almost complete loss of sweating, blood pressure regulation issues, a weak urinary stream, and general physical weakness. I also seem to have reduced awareness of the sensations that normally occur before fainting.

The lack of sweating has become particularly concerning. The last time I was at the beach, I became extremely unwell in the heat and believe I may have experienced heat exhaustion or heatstroke. Since then, I’ve been much more careful about heat exposure.

I also feel that my body often remains in a state of high activation, and recently some anxiety symptoms have started returning.

Has anyone with PSSD experienced a similar combination of sweating problems, blood pressure issues, urinary symptoms, altered fainting sensations, and difficulty regulating the body’s response to heat?

I’d also be interested in hearing whether anyone has found treatments or strategies that have helped with these autonomic symptoms.

Thanks to everyone who shares their experience or information.

almost more than 1 year i stoped ssri's.

CBD gummies with zero THC in Europe — Where i can buy or order it

I’ve never smoked and I’ve never drunk alcohol, so I have basically no experience with recreational substances.

Lately I’ve been feeling a strong sense of disconnection from the world, and I’ve been reading that some people find CBD helpful for relaxation or general well-being. I understand that the evidence for many of these claims is still limited, so I’m not expecting it to be a miracle solution.

I was considering trying CBD gummies specifically, but I would only be interested in products that are genuinely THC-free (0.0% THC) and have reliable third-party laboratory testing.

Where I live, CBD edibles are restricted because of the current laws, so I’m wondering about the situation elsewhere in Europe.

For people who have experience with this:

- Are THC-free CBD gummies legally available in your European country?

- What should I look for on the label/lab report to verify that they really contain 0 THC?

- Are there particular European countries where these products are regulated and legally sold?

gut inflammation and pssd

gut inflammation

Why does my PSSD get WAY worse when my gut is messed up?

My diet is honestly not very healthy right now. Sometimes I eat a lot of fast food or sugar, and when I have a bad stomach episode, like intestinal inflammation or gastroenteritis, my PSSD symptoms feel MUCH worse.

I mean really bad. My whole body can feel like it’s in a ball of fire. The sensations get so intense.

But when I start eating better for some days, I notice that these sensations get better too.

The weird thing is, I still have the same anhedonia, genital numbness and feeling disconnected from my body. I still feel almost nothing. But the painful/burning body sensations can improve.

So I’m wondering… could the gut and what we eat have something to do with PSSD symptoms for some people? Maybe inflammation, gut health, something like that?

Does having a girlfriend or wife improve your PSSD, or does it make things harder?

I’m curious about people’s experiences with PSSD and relationships.

For those of you who got into a relationship after developing PSSD (or were already in one), did having a girlfriend/wife help your situation in any way? For example, did emotional connection, affection, intimacy, or having someone supportive make symptoms easier to deal with?

Or did being in a relationship make things worse because of pressure around sex, expectations, lack of libido, emotional stress, or feeling like you can’t fully connect with your partner?

I know PSSD affects everyone differently, but I’d like to hear real experiences from people who are in long-term relationships or have tried dating while dealing with it.

Did your relationship improve your mental health and coping, or did it add more difficulties?

Can AlphaFold help find a cure for PSSD? Potentially yes—but only indirectly.

Can AlphaFold help find a cure for PSSD?

Potentially yes—but only indirectly.

AlphaFold is not a treatment, and it won't "solve" PSSD on its own. What it does is predict the 3D structures of proteins and, with AlphaFold 3, model interactions between proteins, DNA, RNA, ligands, and drug-like molecules. That makes it a powerful tool for understanding disease mechanisms and accelerating early-stage drug discovery.

For PSSD, the biggest obstacle is that we still don't know the underlying biological mechanism. There are several hypotheses (serotonergic signaling, epigenetic changes, neurosteroid dysfunction, peripheral nerve involvement, receptor dysregulation, etc.), but none has been conclusively proven.

If researchers eventually identify the molecular pathways responsible for PSSD, tools like AlphaFold could help by:

- identifying promising drug targets,

- modeling how receptors and proteins interact,

- predicting how candidate drugs might bind,

- speeding up the early stages of drug development.

That said, AlphaFold does not replace laboratory experiments or clinical trials. Any potential treatment would still need to be validated experimentally and then tested in humans.

So I think AlphaFold represents a reason for cautious optimism. It doesn't provide a cure today, but it could significantly accelerate the research needed to eventually develop one.

pleasureless orgasm, tired days after even sleep, what can can help even temporary?

After one year I still experience pleasureless orgasms and persistent fatigue even after a full night’s sleep. I’ve tried sleep teas and various supplements with no real improvement.

Has anyone had any improvements after changes in diet or starting a gym routine? Any experiences or suggestions are welcome, thanks.

some stats and words

I took SSRIs to treat anxiety and depression. I never imagined that after stopping them, I would end up dealing with something many doctors still barely recognize: PSSD (Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction).

For some people, it is not just a sexual issue. It can mean emotional numbness, anhedonia, cognitive problems, loss of motivation, genital numbness, insomnia, and feeling disconnected from yourself. The hardest part is being told that it is “all psychological” while your entire nervous system feels different.

Some brain and neurological conditions still have no definitive cure today:

• PSSD (Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction)

- First reported: 1990s

- Duration: months, years, sometimes decades

- Definitive cure: none officially recognized

- Current treatments: experimental approaches, hormonal evaluations, neurological support, symptom management

• Alzheimer’s Disease

- Discovered: 1906

- Duration: progressive over years

- Definitive cure: none

- Current treatments: medications that may slow cognitive decline in some patients

• ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis)

- Identified: 1800s

- Duration: usually progressive over 2–5 years after diagnosis

- Definitive cure: none

- Current treatments: drugs that may slightly slow progression and supportive care

• Parkinson’s Disease

- Described: 1817

- Duration: long-term progressive condition

- Definitive cure: none

- Current treatments: dopamine-based medications and deep brain stimulation

Medicine has advanced enormously, but there are still neurological conditions that remain poorly understood. Lack of a cure does not mean the condition is not real.
