Cutting machines

For the purposes of proxy cutting I’ve seen most people recommend the Silhouette Cameo 5. Is the 5 really necessary or will one of the older machines work just as well? I’m looking to start getting into them and was just wondering if I could save a little money or if there’s some massive difference I’m unaware of.

Secondhand Ecotank

Would it be worth taking a chance in this secondhand printer from my local marketplace? Without knowing the history would you chance it? Seller says it was a backup printer and is in good condition.

Getting into proxies

I’d like to start getting into proxying. I have an older Epson printer that I’m not sure would do well enough or not. But I’d need everything else.

I’ve been doing a decent amount of research and am still nervous to jump in. I found crycry on YouTube and he was recommending some 44lb presentation paper with 3 mil (actually 2.8) lamination sheets. Would this work out okay or is there a better combination that works better?

For corner rounding if I’m buying a punch, what size would I need? I’ve heard 3mm, but I’ve also heard that’s not correct.

Any resources and/or assistance would be greatly appreciated!
