How popular are the Lions really in Germany outside of the Amon-Ra connection?

I get why the Lions would want to play in Germany and from a business perspective it probably makes total sense. Amon-Ra obviously gives them a connection there and the NFL is clearly trying to grow internationally.

That said, I can’t tell if the whole “Germany’s team” thing is actually real or if it’s something Rod Wood/ownership has kind of appointed themselves. I just have a hard time believing one or two players with ties to a country suddenly makes a franchise massively popular there.

Maybe I’m wrong and the Lions actually do have a legit following in Germany, but sometimes it feels like the organization is pushing hard for the branding/opportunity side of it more than anything.

From a fan/team perspective, I’m also not totally sure what the upside is compared to just staying stateside besides revenue and exposure. Regardless, Rod wood fucking retire I’m sick of hearing you talk this offseason

Still got work to do but last year I was so concerned with how it looked after winter that I climbed in with a bucket and emptied the whole pool and scrubbed it clean, such a waste of time and effort
