Snatch volume vol.2

Held my first kettlebell sport class for my colleagues. I threw an OALC pyramid 1'-2'-3'-2'-1 at them (with free switches). Nobody died! 💪

I did my own session straight after.

🟣 Snatch 20kg 2*6'(2'/3')@ 16rpm

Wrist rehab with a light bell

My right wrist became aggravated after the comp and I haven't trained with bells in almost two weeks. Instead of killing my wrist with fire I'm gently warming it up and it feels quite good. Still subtle pain while extending the wrist.

I also tried slight changes in regripping the bell and during the backswing. Now going thumb back between the legs and trying elbow out with a shrugged shoulder during the drop.

Let's see.

Last intensive comp prep session

Last intensive OALC set before the comp on Friday next week. I was being conservative with snatches today because my training time was limited. Very happy with the OALC though. 50+ reps is the goal with the 32kg.

Now keeping the blade sharp these last days.

Military snatch 24kg 12'@ 18rpm / 218 reps PR!

Comp simulation set. I decided to go full 12 minutes this time. Last Sunday a literal bug stopped my 10min set and today I had my revenge. And a PR!

Military snatch means 12 min continuous set with unlimited hand switches.

Test day with a squirrel, horsefly and a 7 day time difference

3 weeks out.

I wanted to test my current condition. Did a 3 min test set of OALC 32kg (comp set is 4min) and a 10 min multi switch snatch set with a 24kg. Maintained 18rpm but at 5:30 mark and 99 reps a horsefly landed on my calf. I tried to swat it during a hand switch, lost the momentum and ended the set. I will try this set again in a couple of days. I'm pretty sure I can maintain 18rpm for 10min, therefore also 12 min at comp. 😁

I set up my gear today in my backyard because I was getting ready to join a Kettlezoom hosted by u/Few_Abbreviations_50

I thought our time difference was 10h but it turns out I am 7 days ahead. I'll be looking forward to the Kettlezoom next Sunday. 🤣

Long cycle 2x16kg 3*10'(5')@ 6rpm

Cardio day. Callusing the mind with multiple 10 minute sets. Easy tempo and light weights. Ventured to the zone 4 towards the end of the sets. Work:rest ratio 2:1. Focus on comfortable rack and work economy.

Swing-snatches and one arm jerks

Snatch variation to fatigue the forearms without wiping the whole nervous system.

Saving my palm skin so only one-arm jerks instead of OALC.

Long cycle 2x20kg / 10' / 92 reps PR!

Third time's the charm!

For the past week I've been trying to get a 10 min set in with the 20kgs, trying to break my last PR of 80 reps. I've been training StrongSport and military snatch and haven't touched LC in a while. I just wanted to see where I'm at. Twice I got in my head this week and quit before the 5 min mark.

Today, despite hearing voices after 4 minutes I broke my last PR by 12 reps, 92 reps total!

Long cycle is fun

I wanted to try some long cycle for a change.

11 working minutes 8-10rpm with double 20's and 24's. I was focusing on confortable rack position.

Recovery LC 2x16kg / 10' / 87 reps

Somehow my posts are not going up to r/kettlebell.

They probably got enough of my posts. Anyways..

I took a few days off after injuring my upper back. Testing with a light and long set. No problems.

PR! Strong Sport 34kg 4' / 47 reps

Not great, not terrible. PR'd in one lift and pulled my back in another.

Today I tried my first 4' OALC set with a 34kg bell and automatically PR'd with 47 reps. 😉 I'll compete with a 32kg in July and I'm trying to maintain 12+rpm. This gives me hope because I was one rep short maintaining 12rpm with a 34kg.

I was supposed to do a single 12' multi switch snatch set with a 24kg bell keeping 15rpm. Started great with 16rpm. At the end of minute 5 I felt something strange under my right shoulder blade. Nothing painful but a kind of a warning shot. I quit the set and decided to call it a day.

A few moments later my stupid brain wanted to go again. As you can guess I pulled my upper back at 3'45" at rep 58.

Tomorrow will tell how bad it is. Train smart and don't be stupid! Cheers!
