Cultus Lake Bad Vibes
I just got back from a weekend at Cultus Lake with my family and couldn’t help but notice that the locals seemed mostly unfriendly.
My grandparents used to have a house on Alder growing up, and I was excited to take my kids to the area. But from the moment we got there the neighbours (besides one) seemed mostly unfriendly.
I live in a small town now, and smiling and saying hi is the norm. So it was quite noticeable when everyone I was friendly to was mostly unresponsive. Neighbours were quick to come out though if they thought you might be parking in their spot, or ruining their flowers? When walking your stroller to the beach.
I saw neighbours fighting over parking, and everyone seemed very on edge. I got the impression there are alot of air b and b’s and the neighbours all hate them? Our air b and b host sucked and seemed very money hungry and cheap, and generally the community vibes were way off and nothing like i remembered.
Just a thought for those in the area to maybe think about how you want to be perceived because your yucky energy does not make me want to come back. (But maybe that is the intention?) I would say either ban Air B and B’s or embrace them because paying good money to feel unwelcome is not it.
