Norma basically recreates Psycho's car scene without saying a word about it
The car dealership scene in Norma Louise is such a weird little Psycho callback. Norma goes to Portland, buys completely different clothes, then trades in her battered car for a flashy red one before checking into a motel. It isn't just the motel part either — the whole sequence has that same "new identity, new car, keep moving" feeling from Psycho. The show could've made the reference really obvious, but it just lets you notice it.
