First is a 3 carat elongated cushion with 3 mm round diamond band.
Second is a 3.5 carat elongated cushion with 3.3mm oval diamond band.
Both center stones are between a 1.35-1.37 ratio L:W, though only the first has a bow tie to my eye
This is an elongated (1.35 ratio) 3 carat cushion on my size 3.5 finger…. I was expecting it to look huge but it looks smaller than I was hoping and has much less finger coverage than I’d like! I am already getting it remade with a new band because this one is scratchy unfortunately. It’s a 3.0 mm band. Do you think swapping the center stone out for a lower ratio (1.2-1.25 ratio) would help with more finger coverage and make a 3 carat look larger overall?
Also, any thoughts on the bow tie? I find it very noticeable in daylight and am thinking a lower ratio (more square, less elongated) will help.
