First (rough) Images From Bolex B8 - I'm Addicted

Definitely a rough draft! I just wanted to make sure everything worked. Four foot strip of FFP Positive 40 dark loaded. Metered with phone. Home developed: clipped to plastic clipboard and submerged in XTOL for about 9 minutes. Scanned with Plustek 135i into strips. Split by online tool. Joined into movie by QuickTime. Some uneven development etc., but I'm super happy with the Yvar 13mm lens and the one shot with 36mm Yvar looks good too. The film is nice and sharp with low grain. Hard to believe so much information is contained in those little frames. Any tips or advice, let me know!

That intermittent slapping or ticking sound happens near the end of the wind. I cannot recreate the sound with the door open to inspect further.

Just new 8mm owner worries or incoming problem? anything else I may be missing?

All speeds are accurate and winds 21-22 half turns reliably. Carries test roll through well and I’m awaiting fresh film to test further!

Just purchased from EBay - new to me Paillard L8. I’ve only just had a little time to run it, however the little arm that is supposed to grab the film doesn‘t seem to extend far enough. having a hard time uploading a video for some reason…but hopefully pictures help a little.

Any thoughts or ideas?

I know it needs a thorough CLA, but I’d like to know it’s at least ok before spending time and money on it!
