I'm wondering how many people remember Kevin McCormick's comic strip "Arnold"? The strip ran 1982-1988 and was about a weird kid in middle school who freaks out others.

A while back I got permission from the creator to republish the entire run of the strip into books. They are available here

The strip's creator was later a gag writer for "Garfield" in the late 1980s and early 1990s. If you ever saw "Garfield" strips from that era that had gags relating to Jon talking about his bizarre family members, or jokes involving hyena, they were most likely written by him. I suspect he wrote that "litter of puppies" strip that became a meme for a while, especially since there's an "Arnold" strip with a similar gag.
