Bravia 8ii on Sale vs 9ii
I wanted to get everyone's advice on whether the 8ii or 9ii will be a better fit and value for my family's use case. We're upgrading from a nine year old 55" Samsung MU8000 so I assume no matter what, it'll be a massive upgrade, but I am looking for consensus on the best option.
Size: 55" or 65". I sit about 5 feet from the TV.
Light: there are south facing windows to the left of the TV, and it gets bright during the day, but there is no direct sunlight on the TV.
Use: probably 30% gaming on PS5 and Switch2 at night; 40% sports day and night; 30% movies and streaming tv shows at night.
Budget: We don't have one, and we're willing to spend extra if it means getting a TV that will last awhile. Right now, the 8ii is on sale for $1999 (55") or $2499 (65"), while the 9ii is full price at $3599 (65")
My sense is the 9ii is likely the best for us overall, but given the significant price difference is the 8ii a better value right now? Also, is there any consensus on whether the 9ii will go on sale for Black Friday?
