One and only for now

This is currently my only Ariocarpus. I got this 5 months ago. I got it from the person who sowed the seed and it is around 3 years old. I have had it outside ever since I got it. I did have it in almost full sun and noticed the sun stress was causing some purple color which was cool but I was afraid too much might be detrimental. Since then I have moved it to pretty much part sun and the purple has gone and it is now more green as it was when I got it. I have a few cacti but this one is my favorite. I know they are fairly slow growing but it has grown quite a bit I think. The first picture was taken yesterday and the second was maybe a month after getting it. Any tips? Thanks

Well that’s a new one on me

Grafted this about 10 days or so ago. I unwrapped it and the damn thing has deflated 🤣 I started grafting being very sterile and careful but then found alcohol didn’t dry on my knife got orange rot, then keeping them inside for a couple days after didn’t work too cold in the house. So now I clean my knife not so often but still do especially on the last rootstock/scion cut. I also leave them outside now where they get sun while they heal, I put solo cups on them when it rains and when I remember I put a fan on them. I’ve had better luck with them taking since I’ve changed my approach. So wtf happened here? Too much pressure? Not watered enough beforehand? Either way I’m gonna let it ride

I gots a question…

This was my very first graft ever and amazingly it took. I named it “Pedro’s chichis”. Now on to the question, what are the chances of cutting these pups off, trying to root them and they survive? I don’t have any grafting stock at the moment or I would graft them.

New addition to the family

Got this beauty today. I was lucky enough to have a job close to a nursery that I’ve been to once and got a tbm-b. Pretty cool place wish it was closer than an hour and a half away. The employee told me they found a cacti supplier in Arizona and they should get a new shipment in September. They have soo many cool things. I’ll have to take pictures next time I’m there. For anyone in middle TN, the place is Hewitt Garden Center in Franklin.

Welp….

I grafted this little guy last night and I was so proud of how nice it turned out, well I guess I was the only one. My wife just sent me this picture while I’m at work 🤦🏻‍♂️ guess I’ll name this one “The Flying Peen” 🤣
