Trying to figure out the S Corp setup process without paying for another expensive service

I run a small freelance web design business and after a decent year financially, my accountant mentioned that switching to an S Corp setup could potentially save me money on self employment taxes.

The problem is once I started researching how to actually do it, I got completely lost. Every guide online jumps straight into tax forms and legal terms like I’m already supposed to understand the process.

What I’m mainly confused about is the order of operations. Do you form an LLC first and then elect S Corp status after?

20-year term life insurance quotes seem all over the place.. what’s normal?

I’ve been shopping around for a 20-year term life insurance policy and I’m a bit confused by how different the quotes are.

For roughly the same coverage ($500K–$750K), I’ve been quoted anywhere from $30/month to $85/month, depending on the company.

I'm in my early 30s, a non-smoker and have no major health issues. I expected some variation, but this seems like a pretty big gap for what should be a fairly standard product.

Are term life policies actually that different between providers? Do most people go through brokers, or compare quotes themselves first?

Just trying to make sure I’m not overpaying for something pretty straightforward.
