Nurse was rude with me at the phone

Hi everyone. I’m a CHHA, and I love my job. My clients are happy with my care, and I was recently recognized as a Caregiver Spotlight by my agency. I’ve never canceled a shift before.
This past Wednesday, there were severe storms, flash flood warnings, and flooded roads near me. My client lived pretty far away, so I called the office about 5 hours before my shift to say I didn’t feel safe driving.
A nurse I had never spoken to before called me and asked why I was canceling because it “wasn’t even raining anymore.” She also said she was outside walking her dog and everything was fine. It made me feel like she thought I was making excuses.
The agency has canceled my shifts several times before, even once after I had already arrived at a client’s house, and I was always understanding.
Am I overreacting, or was that an inappropriate way to handle the situation?
