Why does the r/Turkey subreddit have an LGBTQ+ flag?
I am a Türk, we don't even celebrate lgbtq+. i tried asking this in r/Turkey but my post was automatically removed. I am so confused Turkey is a muslim country and doesn't celebrate lgbtq+. This makes no sense and imo it paints a wrong picture of us türks.
No hate i am just soo confused
Edit: Since some people are insulting me just for asking, let me clarify.
I'm not gay, and Türkiye is a Muslim-majority country where Pride Month isn't a mainstream national celebration. I understand that some people support it (I don't, and I strongly dislike it, but I'm not looking to start drama).
My issue is that putting a pride flag on a subreddit representing the whole country can give people the impression that it reflects Türkiye as a whole, when it doesn't. That's why I found it misleading.
I do dislike LGBTQ+, but I'm not trying to ReMoVe It EvErYwHeRe. If you can't handle the fact that I have a different opinion about LGBTQ+, that's on you. Having a different opinion doesn't automatically make me a bigot. I don't have to support or like it.
I also didn't disrespect anyone, call anyone names, or insult people that support lgbt. Yet some of you immediately jumped to false accusations and personal insults just because I don't support a particular group. That's honestly very ironic.
