Super dumb question don’t flame me pls

TW: weight, numbers, recovery, ed (I’m sorry I’m really new to this)

Okay, so I genuinely had a question about weight and getting back my period. I’ve been eating consistently, normal to large portions of food, and finishing my meals my parents provide me. I am eating out of my comfort zone, but when I weigh in, I don’t seem to be gaining any weight. I think it’s just water weight honestly. It had me wondering— If I keep eating normally, stop counting calories/restricting and have a diet that consists of all foods that aid in period recovery (which would be rich in proteins, fats and estrogen), could it be possible to maintain my weight or gain few lbs to get my period back? I’m sorry if I sound so dumb, but if things go the way they are I’m so hopeful and excited about this.

I’ve had HA since October 2025. For reference, I’m 16, 5’4 >!99-100 lbs!<. I know that’s super low, but if I gain some weight I could still be content. Thanks guys!

Forced recovery but I genuinely need my period back

Hey guys, this is my first ever post on Reddit. I’ve always been a spectator and never a commenter and have never spoken on this platform, but for what’s going on now— I’d like to utilize this app for the things going on in my life currently.

I’m 16 years old, 5’4, and as of today >!99 lb. In April of 2026, my mom took me to a gynecologist because I didn’t have my period for more than 6 months. We thought it was because I was on birth control ever since I was in 7th grade and I stopped taking it in November of 2025, but I was on the lowest dose, it definitely wasn’t because this May I was diagnosed with anorexia nervosa due to my poor eating choices. The realization of a forced recovery is hitting me very hard, like I keep sobbing my eyes out and my parents are getting annoyed from it. The doctors wanted to see a weight restoration from May to June— 3 meals and two snacks and I can’t make any decisions, I gained 4.2 lbs (106.2) and today on July 1st, I lost 7 lbs. This is just very hard for me. It’s either a 2-4 lb weight gain per week for four weeks till August, or I’m sent to residential. !<

Here’s a little backstory. I was 10 years old when I started my period, and it was extremely irregular (heavy). Therefore, I became anemic and had many iron infusions. So, we went to a pediatric gynecologist and she prescribed birth control pills (first it was Slynd and the previous one was Junel 1.5/30). On Slynd, I gained a whopping >!20-25 lbs!< and I was >!165!<. That lead to a lot of my sisters bullying me and me feeling insecure about myself. Before and during puberty I was always on the high bmi high percentiles and I felt like that needed to change after I hit my highest. So I decided to portion control etc etc and 3 years later here I am. I feel like my life got significantly worse after April, but I have to overcome my fear of gaining weight somehow, I just need the strength.

Now, anyone that took the time to read this, I genuinely appreciate it. I have a few questions. If you’d like to ask questions for me please ask away I would greatly appreciate everything.

Are there foods to help a period recovery process faster?

Do I need to be as high as I was before? >!130-165? !<

What do I expect these couple of days?
