Ordered my wife an RG35XX 2024 - still OK in ‘26?
I’ve got a steam deck, and my wife has really been enjoying playing older games on the TV (crash bandicoot PS1 particularly), and was mentioning she wishes she still had a gameboy or something simple to play.
Chatted to her a bit about this and it sounded like the aesthetic/simplicity is important, which lead me to one of the vertical form factors, with ideally no joysticks and in the classic grey.
The RG35xx plus (which was my ideal choice as seems to be the most recent / best spec’d that fits the bill) has been out of stock for a couple of months, and seems to be EOL from what I can tell. If it were me, I’d get the pro, but the thumb sticks and glossy finishes loose the aesthetic.
I wanted to get something in time for our anniversary (we’re flying for a holiday that day, I thought it would be a fun airport gift to enjoy on the flight) so I’ve ordered the 2024.
Is this a bad choice in ‘2026?
