So what about Spider’s new tattoo?

This is the clearest picture I could find.

So Spider seems to have a Metkayina tattoo, it appears after the Sully family has returned to Awa’atlu. If I recall correctly it can be first seen when Spider bonds with an ilu for the first time.
I was wondering, where did this tattoo come from? When did he get it?
I can’t really see the Metkayina giving him a tattoo, considering Ronal’s opinion and also how sacred and important these tattoos are to their culture. I also can’t see Spider painting one on himself like he does with the stripes, considering that the tattoo has to be earned.

Considering the placement and going off what we know about the meanings behind the tattoos of the Metkayina, a tattoo on the arm would represent the outer seawall and would be given to reef na’vi that often spend time in the open ocean, for example a skilled deep-sea hunter would have more tattoos on the arms and legs instead of the chest (which represents the safe embrace of the lagoon and the island) or the face (which is given once a Na’vi has come of age).
Perhaps it could have been given to him due to the gift Eywa granted him? The shape sort of resembles an eye and it is placed on the arm, so it could bear the meaning of “an outsider that passed through the eye of Eywa”, while still not giving him a face tattoo due to him not being considered an adult and also not being formally part of the Metkayina.
I still struggle to see it this way though, given how Ronal feels towards anything sky-people related and, since she is Tsahìk, she would have the final say on the matter.

What do you guys think?

What do you think the battle at Bridgehead will look like?

So, it's pretty clear that eventually we will get a battle at Birdgehead, given that it had a lot of focus and is now the base of both the RDA and Mangkwan, and also there was concept art of a battle at Bridgehead (in which Jake rides a Titanothere along with Na'vi on direhorses)

Just imagine the Na'vi deciding to storm Bridgehead, with forest Na'vi coming from the forest on direhorses and guided by Jake on a Titanothere, while at the same time reef na'vi and Tulkun attack by the sea. The battle would be absolutely epic!

I wonder how the Na'vi could win it though, given the kill zone makes it difficult to attack and takes the element of surprise out of the equation, and also Bridgehead is full of defenses and Sec Ops personnel.

Do you think we could get an Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora 2?

I love the game and its story. Despite its flaws, I thought it was a beautiful and emotional game to experince, and not only the base game! The DLCs as well, From the Ashes in particular was very emotional and fun to play, with a story that kept you on edge and that I personally found more "Fire and Ash" than the movie itself.

With Avatar 4 and 5, do you think Ubisoft might release a second game? With upgraded parkour mechanics, combat, personalization, textures... It would be wonderful if we also got a region with Reef-type Na'vi.

The story is far from over and still has a lot of loose ends, so the possibilities are there. I believe that From the Ashes deliberately left some story threads unfinished in the case of a second game, or at least a new DLC. I think, tough, that a new game would be far better, improving the gameplay with players opinions and desires in mind.

The Windtraders seem to have abnormally long kurus?

As I was rewatching Fire and Ash I couldn’t help but notice that a lot of Windtraders seem to have extremely long kurus. They wrap their kurus around their bodies and necks multiple times to hold them in place against strong winds, and despite that most of them still hang pretty low on their back. If you try to visualise their kurus unwrapped they would reach very low, I’d dare to say even past their knees, which is a lot compared to all the other Na’vi characters.
While there are some Na’vi that seem to have a longer than average kuru (Ronal is the only example that comes to mind, really) the Tlalim seem to generally have extremely long kurus compared to other Na’vi. I wonder why?

I know this is a very nitpicky detail to notice, but I wonder if it was a deliberate design choice and if there is an in-lore reason to explain this.

Do you think the Wetlands we briefly see in Fire and Ash the one were the Hulanta live?

The Hulanta is a clan of forest na’vi that lives in a wetland, they were supposed to be introduced in the game Avatar: Reckoning before it was cancelled, but I believe the clan is still part of canon despite the game never releasing.

Do you think we should have had a flashback of the volcanic eruption?

I've seen a lot of people say they wished we had a flashback of the Mangkwan's backstory. I think it would have been a great addition to the film and it could have made the Mangkwan feel less shallow and flat, while also giving the movie a fresher feeling. What do you guys think?

How long do you think the Sully family was with the Windtraders?

In Fire and Ash, we get a lot of time jumps, but the one I am curios about is about the time the Sully family spends with the Windtraders.

We know that to go from the Omatikaya rainforest to Awa'atlu, it takes around 8 hours of flight by ikran (including 3 rest stops of 1 hour).

The thing is that the Windtraders ships travel slower than an ikran but do not require any stops to rest, but we also do not know if they stopped to trade with any clan on the way to High Camp or what route they took. The film, to me, makes it look like the Sullys traveled with them for at least a few days to a week before the trip was cut short by the Mangkwan.

What are your head-canons about the Tayrangi?

Given that we have little information about their actual culture and ways of life, I was wondering what you guys think about the Tayrangi and what their culture and practices might be like.

I find it particularly interesting that while they are a clan of forest Na’vi, they have a deep bond with the sea and heavily rely on it, going as far as hunting huge sea animals like the nalutsa, while still living on the edges of and i presume relying on the forest.
I wonder how this duality of environments might have shaped their materials, foods, shamanic and herbal knowledge, traditions, rites and practices in general.

Where do you think the events of the films take place, given the only canon “map” we have?

This is the only canon image of what (part of) the continents of Pandora look like, I was wondering where you guys think the events of the films take place.

The only canon information (as long as I am aware) that we have is that the Metkayina are a 5-hour ikran flight north-east from the Omatikaya, and that the Frontiers of Pandora game takes place in the Western Frontier, which is said to be on another continent West to the Omatikaya rainforest.

This post is to purely have fun, speculate and share theories and headcanons. I am well aware we can’t really do much with the information we have, but it’s always fun to theorise!
