Wondering the best path to AV career

I would love some insight from AV veterans about where to begin as a commercial AV technician.
I have a bachelor's degree in sound design.
Most recently, I have done some freelance work as an audio editor. I was an audio/visual engineer for a church for 5 years just before the pandemic hit.

I have just finished going through the Dante 1 certificate course. But I have not yet taken the tests to certify because I'm wondering if CTS would have been a better starting point, since it seems I am missing some core understanding of networking basics.

So, I am interested in what an AV pro would suggest is a good starting point to start a career in the field. I would think learning as much as possible before applying to jobs would be the way to go, especially as someone with novice level experience. But then what certificates are worth it, necessary, would help build the strongest foundation to get started?

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance!
