The five-year anniversary of my dad’s passing is coming up, so I’ve been intentionally looking for little things that bring me joy to help balance out the heavier moments that always seem to creep in around this time of year.

I’ve been pouring myself into the backyard lately. My dad loved being outside and surrounded by nature, so putting up bird feeders, bird baths, and all the little extras has been surprisingly healing. I genuinely love sitting out there and watching all the animals enjoy it.
