Does this look like a toadlet to y’all? Raised him from a tadpole I found in a drying up ditch in south AL.

Hi guys, my tadpole is finally turned into a toadlet but for some reason I’m having second thoughts. I have other toadlets and he doesn’t look like them. The area he was found in had a high number of fowlers and southern toads, but he looks a little different to me, mainly his huge eyes. He transformed a couple of weeks ago and is growing FAST! He’s a healthy little guy, but I’m wondering if my assumed ID is wrong. He is from a very rural area with every type of frog and toad we have to offer in this part of our state, but I thought they were toad tadpoles. I mainly need a correct (or best guess) ID so I can properly care for him and give him exactly what he needs to thrive. Thanks 🐸

Check out this guy, he’s grown all 4 legs!

I wanted to share this picture with you guys. A few weeks ago, I relocated a few 5 gallon buckets of toad (not sure what type, I think fowlers because so I seen so many on the property but not for sure) tadpoles from a drying up ditch, and I kept 4 to grow and make pets out of. My other 3 babies have their back legs, and are right behind this guy. Watching them grow has been amazing, and is literally a dream come true for me. My 2 & 4 year old daughters love them just as much as I do, so these babies are well appreciated and admired.🤎

I found a sick toad, can anyone help tell me what to do?

My husband and I were checking in on our yard’s resident toads, and we found one upside down, on its back with eyes closed and stuff, thought it was dead. We went to bury it and then he came back responsive for a few mins, then went out again, stiff, not moving and eyes closed. It is also very very bloated with a squishy belly. A few days ago we seen this toad in the yard and it was moving extremely slowly, not as usual. It doesn’t have any signs of ranavirus but is I. A quarantine tank away from my others and I washed my hands throughly after handling it, the pics are when I first brought it inside and didn’t have gloves available outside. I do not have a wildlife rehabber in my area to help me or else I’d hand this over to them.

Hi guys! Question about tadpoles:

I relocated a few hundred toad (I think fowlers based on how many are on the property but not positive) tadpoles from a drying up ditch on my in laws land and I kept 5 to grow, 1 died within the first few hours of bringing them home, but my last 4 have done amazing! They’re all growing, eating well and growing back legs, one is even growing his front legs!😍 I’m wondering at what point will he need to have access to a dry area? I have them in 32oz cups all separated, but I’m wondering if I could put them in a tank together so they have more room and I can build a good area for them to get onto “land” in, vs what I can do in the cups. Thanks in advance 🤎

I despise my husband’s dog

I HATE my husband’s dog with a passion.

Hi guys, I feel as if this is a safe space for me to vent and not get death threats for being a “horrible person” by dog crazies. My husband and I have been together 6 years, and he’s had this dog since before we met. She’s a 9 year old shitbull (pitbull) and lab mix. I used to really like dogs before I had my children and before I experienced extreme fatigue around dog culture. My husband comes from extreme dog lovers, and he is one. The crazy type that we make fun of. This dog is disgustingly fat because he says “she’s old and a bulldog, she’s just built like that” so she snores horribly, she sheds unreal bad, leaving hair all over everything in our house no matter how much I clean. He insists on her SLEEPING IN OUR BED which makes my skin crawl, we’ve had conversations over it and he refuses to make her sleep on the floor because “he can’t sleep without cuddling with her🤢). So, our bed is always disgusting because she stinks like yeast and assholes, and full of dog hair from nasty fatass… and her snoring keeps me up at night. She also pisses and shits in the house almost every night and gets in Our trash, but it’s ok to my husband and he won’t clean it up. She does this right after eating, so she is t starving so she needs to forage in the trash for food, and pisses in the house right after coming inside. She usually does this stuff when I’ve pissed her off in some way, and waits until we’re asleep or out of the house to act up. That is how I know she knows better. She is also an aggressive bitch like most bloodsport breeds/mixes, at our old house she went after a little girl that was walking down the road, and a man who was walking his dog. When I say “went after” I mean running, snarling, growling and wanting to kill. She has nipped me when I touched something she was resource guarding. She is so gross, bitchy and horrible. The way my husband puts her on a pedestal and sees no wrong in her worst doings truly makes me sick. The only comfort I find is that she’s old and doesn’t have many more years left in this world.

I’m looking to upgrade my toad enclosure by adding UVB, they get calcium with D3, but I’m wondering what would be a good UVB light for them? I use this one for my leopard geckos.

My heart is broken-tried to rescue two toadlets but they didn’t make it.

Picture of two of my healthy, lovely pet toads for tax* Today, my husband went to his parents house to help them mow their grass. They live on a large bit of land out in the country, with two ponds and a creek that runs through it. Literally toad heaven! He noticed tiny, tiny toadlets when he was mowing, and he noticed two that was moving lethargic after he ran them over with the mower (the blade wasn’t all the way down, so they didn’t get cut but the heavy pressure and air blowing most likely hurt them) , so he brought them home for me to try and rehab. I checked them out and the looked healthy, but I could tell something was a little off because they were moving way too slowly. 3 I put them in a quiet area in a enclosure I had setup already for a toadlet (one of just got grew this enclosure) and 2 hours later, they both passed away. 8 am absolutely crushed, I wanted to help them so bad. The grass was very tall and full of ticks, my kids play in the yard when they go over, so it had to be mowed. I just wish they would’ve been ok. I know things happen, they can’t all survive as it is nature, but I feel so bad.
