The entire Tigers organization is rotten and Chris Ilitch is to blame.

Let’s just ignore whatever the heck is happening with the team right now. We can completely set aside this disgusting brand of baseball they’re putting on the field, but how are we not talking about the deep-rooted problems with the entire organization from the Tigers all the way down to the minor leagues?

Other MLB teams are not dealing with massive, systemic front-office scandals every single season. What’s happening behind the scenes with the Tigers is a deeply toxic, corrupt culture. It’s gotten to the point where we seriously have to ask ourselves what the fuck is going on with this entire organization.

If you step back and look at the sheer volume of scandals over the last couple of years, it’s horrifying. It’s a complete top-to-bottom rot, and the timeline of departures is staggering.

We’ve watched a revolving door of high-profile executives and managers quietly resign or get fired because of gross misconduct. Look at the timeline of how this has unfolded:

November 2024: The Director of Video Content Production is fired after accusations of unnecessarily touching female coworkers and calling them pet names.

March 2025: The Lakeland VP of Business Operations is fired after shoving a female employee at a bar and harassing staff.

April 2025: Assistant GM Sam Menzin suddenly resigns after an internal investigation revealed he was sending unsolicited, lewd photos to female employees.

September 2025: A massive investigative report from The Athletic drops, detailing how a VP of Premium Sales resigned after allegedly pushing a woman down a flight of stairs. Around the same time, the VP of Game Presentation is suspended for telling female coworkers they weren't physically attractive enough to work in sports.

May 2026: Just a few weeks ago, Triple-A Toledo Mud Hens manager Gabe Alvarez is fired following an HR investigation into highly inappropriate text messages sent to a female colleague.

It’s not just the people behind closed doors, look at the broadcast booth:

Cameron Maybin quietly disappears from the Bally Sports broadcast team after his contract isn't renewed due to allegations of sexual harassment and sending inappropriate text messages to female staff members.

Craig Monroe is abruptly pulled off the air due to horrifying allegations of sexual misconduct involving a minor.

How Is This Happening Everywhere?! Seriously, take a step back and look at the scope of this. How can one single team continue to have this many massive issues regardless of where it's happening? It doesn’t matter what department you look at, the big league front office in Detroit, the Triple-A affiliate down in Toledo, the business operations in Lakeland, or the TV broadcast booth. The rot is literally everywhere. It crosses every single level and affiliate of this franchise. At some point, you have to realize this isn’t just a string of bad luck or a few isolated HR incidents. It’s an organizational plague.

A culture where executives and managers feel emboldened to harass and assault women doesn't happen by accident. It happens because ownership allows it to breed. This all falls squarely on Chris Ilitch. This is his team, and the entire organization reflects exactly how he runs it: soulless, completely corporate, and driven only by profit.

They flash shiny new objects in our faces to artificially inflate attendance and squeeze out every last dime, keeping fans looking the other way. We are constantly bombarded with empty Premium Seats for Corporate Suits. They are desperately trying to squeeze corporate sponsors while the internal culture burns. Look at the new Press Club, the ultra-exclusive suite for two dozen guests. The new and improved MotorCity Casino Hotel Tiger Club. It’s absolutely sickening to watch the broadcast and see all the empty Priority Club seats right behind home plate while a bunch of corporate suits feast on premium food and drinks inside, not even caring about the game. It’s all about creating luxury bubbles for VIPs instead of addressing the massive problems right in front of them.

Other teams do not operate like this. Other teams don't have to push foot-long cheese powder corn dogs, author signings, and exclusive hat drops to instead of addressing the fact that their leadership keeps making headlines for assault and harassment.

Ilitch can hide behind corporate statements about "respect and inclusion," but the actions speak way louder. I’ve supported Detroit sports my whole life, but I am seriously struggling to justify handing another dime to a soulless organization that operates like this. They don't deserve our money, and they definitely don't deserve our loyalty right now.
