Pulm/CC vs Neurology
Hi all! Current MS4 and I’m still stuck between IM—>Pulm/CC and Neurology.
I enjoyed outpatient Pulm, bronchs, and inpatient ICU. However, I don’t enjoy IM outside of that.
For Neuro, I enjoyed Alzheimer’s, migraines, and seizure management while rotating outpatient. Inpatient consults for things like Herpes Zoster Opthalamicus and other infectious disease workups intrigued me. I also am curious about working with TBI/CTE patients or even finding a way to bridge Neurology and Sports Medicine.
What is the work/life balance for Neurology, what is the residency experience like, what are some bread and butter procedures that Neurologists get to do, and how is compensation likely to change over the years?
