I am a Scottish woman born and bred in the Scottish Highlands. AMA.

Born and bred Scottish Highlander. Beautiful scenery. The best water. Lovely places to go. Lovely people. Great standard of living. Still live here and probably will until I die.

Ask me anything and I’ll be happy to confirm or deny any myths or rumours or anything from outlander to the clans to just daily modern living.

I’m in Inverness.

Can someone realistically help me with sudden homelessness?

I am 28F and single. Can’t drive.

I have nowhere to go.

I have 2 nights free accommodation through sudden homelessness but on Monday morning I’ll jsut have to turn up to the council and hope for the best.

I have had a complete breakdown with the family member I was staying with and I am severely mentally ill.

I work full time but have significant debts that most of my wage goes toward repayments and I cannot afford anywhere.

I’m due to start a new job soon so this isn’t helping.

I am desperate for any help. I don’t have any friends or other family that could help me and what I could realistically afford isn’t an option as renting anywhere is extortionate.

It’s my birthday as well today and I am fucking stressed depressed miserable and crying alone in homeless accommodation with mostly everything I have in 2 suitcases and 4 bags.

I finally got hired as an outsider for the NHS.

I worked retail for years whilst studying and tried to leave for years and nothing. Then I finally got a job in admin for an organisation but it’s just so tedious and boring with no room for professional development or growth.

Been trying to get into the NHS for 2 years but was always rejected, I presume because I had no NHS experience. I have friends and family who work there and I know how hard it can be and how long it took some of them to break through. I was desperate to get in as it’s closer to my house (I cycle everywhere and it meant I could walk there) and had better hours.

Finally had an interview after all these rejections and I didn’t think it went well. I also didn’t think I’d have a hope in hell’s chance as it’s a grade higher than I’m on and more money. Also because it was a similar style job as what I’m on now but for a specific health department which I had no experience of.

Got the phone call a few hours later and they offered me the job! So fucking happy! 🥹

ETA: it’s also my birthday today so getting the news this week was the best present ever

Like you didn’t actually encounter a celebrity yourself up close and personal but maybe you saw them from a distance or something or you left somewhere within seconds of a celebrity being there.

My biggest pain is that I was on a family holiday in 2018 in Los Angeles and as we were going away on a tour bus, a massive commotion occurs on the Hollywood walk of fame with loads of paparazzi appearing and fucking Jeff Goldblum appears just as the bus is driving away and it turns out he was getting his Hollywood star! If the tour was even like an hour later we could have properly gone up and seen it happen.
