Issues with landlords/family tenants - [PA]
Have rented a decent rowhouse for 2 years. Landlord owns the ones on either side of me. When I moved in they were very focused on having quiet professionals, talked about how nice the neighborhood is, etc. Place has been ok, people on either side respectful and no big issues.
Now a few months ago, neighbors left and landlord's kids/family moved in on either side. Much younger crowd. Big issue for a bit was just more noise. Hear loud swearing randomly when one is watching a game. Heavy stomping and door slamming. They don't have jobs I think so keep weirder hours and are active at weird times.
Now it's getting worse. One has a dog (I was told on move in no pets...) and it will bark/whine for hours when they are away. Last night threw a rager in the shared yard til 1 AM that you could hear 1/2 a mile away. The one is smoking weed in the yard all the time (my lease had a no smoking policy). Individual things that on their own are annoying but could be maybe worked around, but collectively it's turning into a pretty terrible place to live.
I had planned to look for new places at the start of the year anyways, but I can't move immediately. Are these things I should be asking the kids to be mindful of? Should I be going to the landlords/parents as they are violating the lease in ways? AITA? My sense is this is just a shit move by the parents to let this happen while still renting/expecting someone to pay them money to live there.
