Broken truss rod on my beloved Strandberg 8-string — hoping for some help from Strandberg Support

Broken truss rod on my beloved Strandberg 8-string — hoping for some help from Strandberg Support

Hey everyone,
I’m hoping someone here might have some advice or perhaps has had a similar experience with Strandberg.
I recently took my beloved Strandberg 8-string to a luthier because I wanted to have the fretwork optimized and get the instrument playing as perfectly as possible.
Unfortunately, during the inspection, I was told something I really didn’t want to hear: the truss rod is broken.
You can Tighten the truss rod and it reduces Relief to the point the strings touch the frets. If you turn it counterclockwise it comes to a point Where its only clicking pretty fast and NOT adding Relief.

I was honestly pretty shocked, especially because this guitar means a lot to me and I’ve always taken great care of it since buying it used a year ago, altough it could be that the seller was fully Aware of this issue, as i didnt feel the Need to Even touch the truss rod.
I’ve already contacted Strandberg Support 2 Weeks ago and explained the situation, but unfortunately I haven’t received a response yet Even After Contacting again. I completely understand that support teams can be busy, so I’m still hoping to hear back.
The guitar was purchased used, and I realize that may complicate things when it comes to warranty or support. Nevertheless, I’m really hoping Strandberg might be able to help me find a solution, whether that’s advice on the repair, replacement parts, or a possible repair through Strandberg.
Has anyone here experienced a broken truss rod on a Strandberg, particularly on an 8-string? How was it handled, and were you able to get help from Strandberg even though the instrument was purchased second-hand?

Its still a very well playing Instrument, I can get it to probably 0.4mm Relief in the middle of the neck. But doing a fret dress would take it Even further. The Tech said its pretty much Not doable or Not efficient with no working truss rod.
Also, it feels Like a ticking time bomb in the Hands lol.

I’d really appreciate any advice or experiences you can share.
I absolutely love this guitar and would really hate to see it sitting there unable to be properly set up. ❤️
Thanks in advance!
