Removing Gratuities

Hers a way of looking at it. I don’t care what anyone does, based on their own principles, values whatever. I am not saying what anyone should do but hear me out and we what choose do is our choice.

With the current increase on my Dec cruise, which is in a Veranda is $39day. For two weeks that works out to $546. If one pays that price, under what the majority of people think, despite whether that’s true, that $546 is being distributed amongst all the “ behind the scenes” people. So does your attendant or waiter c that? Plus if it is indeed a supplement to the salary and once the contract is met, how much more do you think everyone really gets?

Sure u can tip above and beyond, but why and lots of people are guilted into it.

Let’s say I remove the grats. I would be more apt to tip my attendant let’s say 20 a day. Same with my waitstaff and sommelier. One, I am paying way more than what Celebrity is charging and I feel fine about that but my actual attendants are getting way more than they ever c when people pre pay and especially if they don’t tip extra.

As for the behind the staff u can always tip bussers and housekeepers throughout the ship whenever u want. For me, I deliberately carry cash all day and tip these behind the scenes people all the time. That’s me. I’m not special or a saint it’s just what I choose to do. It’s cost way more than prepaying and again I’m good with it.

As for the laundry people and other ancillary staff, they are wonderful and valued and appreciated. But that’s their job. Our prepaid grats don’t go to them anyway. They accept a contract with all the good and bad it offers.

Anyway, this is for thoughtful discussion. I debated posting it because I am not cheap, ungrateful or entitled. I am well aware of how lucky I am and how good my life is. And I generously show that wherever I go in life. I really don’t want a beck and forth name calling or negative vibes or assumptions.

Happy cruising y’all in whatever way works for u ❤️

Private Journeys

Has anyone used this service where you work with the staff, pre cruise, I guess for a tailored experience?

What is the process and the cost and did you find it valuable? Thinking of doing it, I know it will be pricey, but want to hear thoughts and opinions before I dive down the rabbit hole and waste my time and their time.

Thanks friends and Happy travels ♥️

Holiday Dinners?

We will be sailing over both Christmas and NYE this year on the Equinox. There is an option for a special Christmas Eve and NYE dinner in Murano. Has anyone had one or both? Or similar on a different ship? Are they the same meal and was it worth the price? Menus are not available We don’t mind paying if it is something really good.

Thanks, friends

Check your Prices

For anyone with an upcoming cruise, check your prices. There are REAL discounts with lower prices at the moment.
I have two upcoming cruises and have been paying attention to prices, not sales percentages. I have great discounts on my drink, dining and shore excursions being offered.
