My Problem with the Mockingjay Deal.

My Problem with the Mockingjay Deal.

(Spoilers for Mockingjay I guess)

Smt I always wonder about during mockingjay is, was the whole Katniss is the Mockingjay thing ever formalized in a written contract, or was it purely verbal. It is such an important thing for the rebellion after all.

(Basing the following off of what I know abt German law, dont take any off this as 100% correct or actual facts. I will check when I get the motivation)

If it was purely verbal it would count if it would fall under Employment Law. Because from what I know, verbal contracts already count under german Employment Law.

Maybe Alma announcing it in front of 13 was the manifestation of this verbal contract, in hopes that she cant change it later, but as we see, verbal contracts a very easy to be changed as Alma added the "if Katniss doesnt fullfill her duties" part during the announcement, sith it changing the wording of the agreement and Katniss has no written proof to argue.

And that is why I think a written contract would have made so much more sense. I mean, they could have worked out proper reassurements and properly phrased clauses and expectations for both parties. That could have been agreed upon by both parties signing it, and if both 13 and Katniss would have had a signed copy, changing the wording would've been a lot harder to impossible if it even would have been necessary since talking about conditions,... before could have ruled it out.

And I mean Alma could still have announced it in front of the population as another layer of security next to the written thing.

But either way, verbal or not, would a contract even have had legal because Katniss isn't 18 and with this still a minor! And except for some exceptions, minors cant sign contracts and those would have to have been singed by the parents. There are exceptions like with parental agreement or if they are enabled to do so by a court.

I don't think Asterid has been consulted for agreement a lot and so the parental consent thing is kinda ruled out.

So maybe Katniss could have been enabled by a court but we dont know enough about how 13 works for that. Or maybe 13 has a different age for stuff like this.

Its just pissing me off that they didn't come up with the idea of a written contract. It surely would have saved both Alma (and all of 13) as well as Katniss a lot of headaches.

What do you think? Is this valid?

I need ualls opinion

Hi, I'm Birch and this is my first post on here.

Some things about me before I get to the topic of the post. I'm from Germany and will graduate soon. I LOVE the Hunger Games! Other fandoms I really like are Warrior Cats, Wings of Fire, Star Trek Discovery (not active in the fandom though)

I have recently started to question fictionkinity but am extremely unsure about it, if it is that or another label, if it even is alterhumanity. I hope you all can just help me out a bit by telling me what you think. I know that Alterhumanity is a personal experience that differs from individual to individual but still, some opinions might help me.

So, lets get onto it.

The character I am questioning is President Alma Coin from the Hunger Games.

She feels very familiar to me, I cant really describe it but reading the book or watching the movies and She's there is comforting. Also seeing pics of District 13, her home, makes me feel comfortable and all. (I sometimes say "I wanna go home" even though I am at my house, and District 13 feels very familiar) Places that have similarities to 13 make me feel at home as well.

Also it is that very often when people hate on her for the things she did (I won't say bc I want to keep this as spoiler free for the books as I can) I feel like I got personally insulted and want to defend her. I also feel like I understand the things she did a lot, or a lot more than the rest of the fandom.

Idk if that does anything but it's also that the way she is perceived in the fandom is something I can translate onto myself. Barely anyone in the fandom likes her, mostly bc they dont know a lot but the fee who do get to look into her more "get to know her" are actually liking her. That feels very similar to how I feel many people dislike me while not knowing me while my friends, the people who got to know me more, like me.

I don't really get shifts from what I gathered. Some kinds of shifts would be kinda hard to get as she is a human character. But even other than that I don't feel like it get any.

I feel kinda comfortable seeing her as me, the thing just is that I don't act like her at all.

Could this be? I'm so unsure abt it.
