A 2-point arc would bring more enjoyment and entertainment to the sport of football (soccer).

Oftentimes teams will default to very defensive tactics after gaining a lead, putting almost all of their players in their own 18-yard box in order to prevent the opposing team from scoring. Although this isn't always a successful scheme, it seems to always slow down the game, making it less enjoyable from a player's viewpoint and less entertainment from a spectator's standpoint.

Introducing a 2-point arc would do a few things for the game:

• Defenders will have to spread out more, resulting in more offensive action
• Teams with a 1- or 2-goal lead would be incentivized to play in a less defensively-explicit manner

As far where to draw such a line, I'm sure we have enough data nowadays to be able to precisely place the arc based on what percentage of goals we would want to count as 2-points (5%, 10%, etc.)
