Tried building a "citation hub" page to get backlinks. 2 weeks in, zero links so far.
I have a small site with free SaaS calculators. Traffic is fine but not growing.
Read somewhere about citation hubs — basically pages that exist so other bloggers can link to them when they need a quick stat. Decided to try it.
Built a 2026 SaaS benchmarks page, 54 stats, all from original reports. The tedious part was going into each PDF and confirming the number actually existed — turns out a lot of blog posts cite numbers that aren't in the source.
Two weeks later: indexed by Google, zero backlinks. The bet is that eventually someone writing "what's a good churn rate" finds it and links instead of doing the research themselves. Probably takes months.
Anyone else tried this approach? How long before you saw the first links?
Page is in my profile if curious.
