Team 1 (Blue)

Ben – Captain
Right now, Ben is the best player in the league (although Dre has a strong argument). Ben is the best overall teammate because of his communication, leadership, and ability to make everyone around him better. He’s the clear #1 option on offense and is the player you want leading a team. His chemistry with almost everyone makes him the perfect captain, and honestly, it’s hard to picture Ben representing any color besides Blue.

Mark – Secondary Scorer
Mark is arguably one of the best strikers in the league and one of the best second options. His offensive pressure and finishing ability pair perfectly with Ben’s playmaking. The Ben + Mark duo has already proven itself to be one of the strongest duos in RDC Rocket League, giving Team Blue a reliable scoring threat without forcing Ben to do everything himself.

Ippi – Goalkeeper
Ippi is currently the best goalie in the league. Giving Ben the fifth-ranked player along with the #1 goalie helps balance the overall teams. Besides his saves, Ippi is also one of the best communicators and hype men, constantly keeping the team organized and energized throughout games.

Dylan – Mechanical Support
Dylan might not rank among the very best overall players, but mechanically he might be the smartest player in the league. His demos (“booming” people), positioning, and setups create countless opportunities for teammates. His aerial game has improved a lot recently, giving Team Blue another player capable of making plays in the air instead of relying solely on Ben.

Team 2 (Orange)

Dre – Captain
Dre has easily been one of the most improved players in the league. You could honestly argue he’s #1, but I still give Ben the edge because of consistency. Dre is the best flyer in the league and creates offensive pressure almost every possession. His biggest weakness is communication, which can make leadership difficult during close games.

Des – Co-Leader
Putting Dre and Des together is dangerous, but it’s necessary because Des balances Dre’s weaknesses. Des is one of the smartest leaders in the league and helps organize the team while keeping everyone involved. Even though he isn’t considered the #1 player anymore, he used to hold that spot, and his experience still shows every game. If Dre needs someone to stabilize the team, Des is that player.

Leland – Goalkeeper
Leland is currently the weaker goalie compared to Ippi, but he’s steadily improving. Since Dre and Des are arguably the two strongest aerial players, giving them the weaker goalie helps balance the overall teams. Leland doesn’t rely on flying much, but his positioning has continued to improve.

CP – Defensive Role Player
CP may not have improved as quickly as Dre during his rookie season, but he’s still one of the better defensive players. He plays his role well, stays disciplined, and complements the aggressive styles of Dre and Des. While Team Orange has the weaker back line overall, CP helps make up for that with consistent defense.

Discussion

Although Ben and Dre are considered the top two players, simply swapping them wouldn’t necessarily create better teams.

For example, pairing Dre with Mark sounds stronger on paper, but the chemistry isn’t there. Mark isn’t known for leading communication, while Dre is arguably the weakest communicator in the league. That combination could easily struggle with rotations, callouts, and overall teamwork.

That’s why Des is paired with Dre. Des naturally fills the leadership role, keeps communication flowing, and allows Dre to focus on what he does best. On the other side, Ben doesn’t need another vocal leader because he already provides that himself.

These teams aren’t built solely around player rankings they’re built around chemistry, communication, leadership, roles, and overall playstyle.

One final thing: Ben and Dre shouldn’t be on the same team. They already play together off-stream, so separating them creates more variety while also making the teams much more competitive.
