Rope fuzzyness

I get that this is not even close to being even called fuzzy, but this was literally done in ONE crag session!

Does this kind of stabilize or am I doing something wrong? Is it to be expected?

Seeing my brand new rope torn apart is very sad, and I've always had a little gear fear so this just amplifies it!

Lowering yourself using the connect adjust?

Suppose being at a vertical anchor or even worse hanging down and needing to transition to rappel. How do you make this thing longer? To me it's like just as you pull on the accessory cord the head flips and you fly down like a rock! Is there any way to lower yourself in a controlled manner without pulling with superhuman strength on the other side of the rope?

How do you wash dishes and pots?

After making e.g. pasta, you're left with a dirty pot and dishes. How do you clean them efficiently?

Assume extremely limited access to water (no sources and walking) and nowhere to dispose of any non biodegradable stuff (so everything you use comes back with you)
