Diving Accident in Maldives

https://www.dailymail.com/news/article-15821197/Husband-doomed-dive-group-leader-says-happened-mystery-surrounds-five-attempted-explore-cave-deep-divers-best-equipment-dont-try.html

This story is so strange to me.
Experienced but recreational divers diving on an atoll in the Maldives from a livaboard. All 5 die.
According to the story they were trying to reach a cave over 60metres down. That doesn’t make sense to me.

I bet it’s the air.
Filled with Nitrox and they thought it was air. Went past Maximum Operating Depth.

Or knew it was Nitrox but didn’t test it and went past MOD

Or contaminant in the air that took them all out.

What do you think?
