Highlights gone wrong 😟

Attaching photos for reference.
I attempted to do my own highlights and the bleach ended up leaking out of the foils and made it blotchy. My friend who went to cosmetology school told me to try to do a level 8 ashy toner/color over it. Would that help make the blotchy-ness less noticeable?? I have engagement pictures in 1 week and can’t afford to go to a salon to get it fixed. Please help!!!

Early August Packing

Hi all! I am heading to Banff in just one week. I’ve already done quite a bit of research, but I would love to hear what your packing must-haves are. I’m from Oklahoma/Texas, so not at all used to mountain weather or terrain. I have some good hiking shoes and a rain jacket, but not sure what else I will need!

Edit: forgot to mention, we will be doing a lot of hiking, a sunset cruise (not sure what that entails), and probably mostly active stuff. Going with my fiancé’s family and they are all extremely athletic so please wish me luck 🥲

Daycare to Nanny/Babysitter

I recently uploaded another post about being unhappy in my current infant daycare position due to pay and understaffing. I want to get into nannying because I really enjoy my job, but I wish I could provide better care and be treated/paid fairly!

My question is- how inappropriate would it be to reach out to one of kids’ parents about the possibility of nannying for them? There are a few babies & parents who I have connected with and I would be more than happy to provide in-home care for them. I know it would be much cheaper for them and their child would be receiving way more attention than they are in our facility. I’m just not sure about the morality of going behind my facility’s back? I especially don’t want to give the parents the wrong impression. I’m on Care.com and I could totally find a family on there, but I already have a relationship with these children and their families. I’d love to hear opinions.

What would you do?

I work at a daycare in an infant room. We have lead & assistant teachers who are in the room all day, and then breaker/closers who do our breaks and close down the room at the end of the day. I recently got promoted from breaker/closer to assistant. I was told I would get a raise for my promotion, and I reminded them that I also should be receiving a raise for the online training that I had to pay for. (They said I would have to pay for it, but I would qualify for a raise once it was completed.) My hourly salary went from 12.50 to 12.75…
Then they decided that instead of hiring new breaker/closers to replace the newly promoted assistants (there are 2 of us), they are going to make us take 1.5 hour *unpaid* breaks so we can stay later. So now I’m working 8:30-6pm. When we complained, they basically said “too bad”. At this point, the only thing keeping me there is the health insurance.
I’m just wondering, is this fair? What would yall do in this situation

I am having to travel 4.5 hours on the weekends and I’m thinking about asking to leave earlier on Fridays to make that work. I just have a feeling it will be denied, and if so, I may have to look for another job.
