Upgrading from a50 Gen 4
I bought the a50 gen 4s way back at release. They served me well, but theyre on deaths door. The things are slowly falling apart with the right earpiece falling off and the top headrest part popping out ever once in awhile. I was willing to deal with these issues until functional problems arose. Now the headset randomly dies, doesnt hold charges, when I turn it on and off the battery percent in the astro command center goes from 4 to 127 to 77 percent and when I take it off the base station it just dies. I have to randomly reset it over and over and leave it charging till it'll hold for awhile.
This led me to getting a new headset while ive seen a lot of people bashing astro when I was researching these headsets lasted over 7 years without major issues. (And technically still work fine when plugged in while used)
Im looking at both astro a50x and regular gen 5s, but I have a key question. I do play on xbox and pc but my xbox is in the living room while my pc is in my room. When I don't want to move myself and my headset base station I just stream the game to my pc. If I do this theres no reason to buy the a50x as the cool features would only work if my xbox was setup close enough to wire it in right? This leds me to the regular astro a50 lights peeps being the right choice, but was wondering if I missed something.
