Update OTS

Update OTS

It’s been updating like this for 4 days already, and nothing is happening. Has anyone experienced this, or does anyone know how to fix it?

DCT problem

That’s the exact sound that happens when shifting into reverse and also when coming to a complete stop at a stop sign and then starting again.

My Review After One Year and 51,000 Miles of Ownership

Engine: 2.5т
Overall, I have no major complaints about the engine itself. The vehicle drives well and has enough power for daily use. However, I noticed that at low RPMs — especially below 2,000 RPM — the engine feels very weak. In city driving, if you want to accelerate even slightly, you often have to press the gas pedal much harder than expected just to force the transmission to downshift one or two gears.

Transmission: DCT FWD
This is probably my biggest complaint about the vehicle. The transmission often refuses to upshift before 1,700–1,800 RPM, even during calm driving on flat roads at 30–50 mph. Because of that, you constantly hear the engine revving higher than necessary, which becomes annoying during daily driving.

At around 5,000 miles, I started noticing a strange metallic clunk during gear changes, especially when slowing down for traffic lights and accelerating again. Another major issue is reverse gear engagement. After shifting into reverse, I usually need to wait 3–5 seconds before moving. If I press the gas pedal immediately after selecting reverse, the car makes a very harsh impact, almost like dumping the clutch on a manual transmission.

I took the vehicle to Hyundai dealerships three separate times, but they were unable or unwilling to fix anything. Every time I was told that they could not find any issues.

By around 30,000 miles, the transmission impacts became noticeably worse. The best way I can describe it is that something feels loose or worn out in the drivetrain, almost like there is excessive play somewhere, but the dealer still says everything is “normal.”

Comfort:
Overall, the vehicle is very comfortable, even with the Calligraphy trim on 21-inch wheels, especially considering I live in Massachusetts where the roads are far from perfect. Despite the rough roads, the ride quality is still acceptable and comfortable for long trips.

One thing I do not like is the rear suspension noise. The back of the vehicle sounds louder than expected over bumps and rough roads. This may partly be related to insufficient sound insulation in the rear section of the car.

Features and Technology:
The vehicle is extremely well-equipped. Heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and especially the digital rearview mirror camera are all features I genuinely enjoy. Most people who get into my car are immediately surprised by how good some of these features are.

As for the Bose sound system, I honestly cannot say it sounds significantly better than Hyundai’s standard audio systems. I do not want to start arguments about audio quality, but personally, I think the Harman Kardon systems in BMW F-series vehicles sound much more pleasant and balanced. That is simply my personal opinion as someone who has experience with both systems.

Overall Opinion:
The car has many great comfort and technology features, and overall it is enjoyable to drive. However, my ownership experience has been heavily affected by transmission-related issues and the dealership’s inability to properly diagnose or repair them. That has been the most disappointing part of owning this vehicle.
