First roll, Nikon F801, Ultramax 400. Need advice on editing

My first roll using SLRs, previously only shot films on my point and shoot and disposables. I read that people do a lot of editing on their scans but I'm actually not sure what to edit and what to improve on the scans that come from the lab. I thought I liked them as they are. Any advice?
