Update on forbidden molluscum nose pop

About ten minutes after the original post was made, we attempted to clean his nose and add a bandaid…which was enough pressure to cause a gnarly pop. After a small freak out and sanitizing everything in the vicinity, I think this is the last stage of bud’s bud.
Background: we first saw his pediatrician after what appeared to be a pimple wasn’t going away after a few months. She referred us to a dermatologist but didn’t think it was anything severe.
Dermatologist disagreed and referred us to a pediatric dermatologist, noting that a plastic surgeon could remove it but it’s likely benign. There was a bit of wait between appointments but the wound wasn’t getting worse, so we weren’t too concerned either.
Finally, the pediatric dermatologist confirmed it as a case of molluscum contagiosum and prescribed tretinoin cream. We applied a q tip amount on the dot at bedtime for about 3 weeks before it became inflamed.
We’re still monitoring and will obviously keep his pediatrician and dermatologist updated but I think the worst of this is behind him.
