Just making sure it was my bad / a clickwheel problem:
When you’re in the WPS and hold the play/pause button for more than one second, it shouldn’t emit a double click noise and bring me back to the main menu screen, right? Eventually if I keep holding it, it will prompt a shutdown. It does the same for the menu button, in which the double click sound is emitted and the shuffle / repeat screen is shown.
I’m pretty sure that it was allowing me to shutdown from within the WPS screen previously, and no double-click situation occurred. It feels like a shortcut is being toggled, maybe a secondary click is being registered.
For troubleshooting I did boot into the iPod OS, and the double click doesn’t occur, but I think that OS registers clicks differently, so it didn’t tell me much.
I reset all settings for rockbox, same thing. Then reseated the clickwheel itself, same thing.
Fortunately I’ve got a whole new enclosure setup on its way, including the clickwheel and center button, so I’m praying that’ll resolve the issue.
