First colposcopy soon, very scared.
I have my first colposcopy coming this week and I have been absolutely terrified, crying about it almost every day. I’ve read terrible things online. On top of it already being a difficult procedure, I have very bad sexual trauma and almost always have a panic attack when I get a Pap smear. I tend to have them if something becomes painful during sex, and feeling pain down there is just a huge trigger. I’m scared of the pain but also further trauma. I really want to know everyone’s experience. Some have said it’s worse than childbirth and I just know it will be worse if I’m so anxious. Has anyone been numbed before? Do they offer that? I’m also just terrified to found out terrible news. I can’t imagine being told I’m infertile or something, it’s my biggest fear.
