Pump action rifle suggestions
Lately I’ve got an itch to collect a .22 Pump action rifle to switch things up from my usual 10/22, Tippmann and Ruger pistols on the range.
I almost picked up a Remington Model 12 from a LGS, but the rifle was chambered in .22 Rem Special, not .22LR. Another LGS had a beat up 572 Fieldmaster but was asking close to 900 for it.
As far as the vintage rifles go, they have their appeal to me, but I know Henry makes an octagon barrel pump rifle as well, new. I’ve seen the Rossi Gallery but it looks like a cheap imitation to me.
Only issue for me with the vintage rifles is finding one in decent shape without a wrecked bore, and one that isn’t too expensive either. The Remington 12 and 121 are what I’ve been trying to hunt after.
Are the vintage rifles worth hunting for, or is the Henry just as good as the old school pump plinkers?
