Last year I applied separately for two periods of incremental credit from my teaching in the U.K. In total these added up to an extra 16 points on the scale.

Now I assumed I would go onto point 18 from September, but the DOE told me I would retrospectively have skipped points 4/8 and 12. This means that in fact I will be on point 21.

I can only encourage anyone who moves from the U.K to teach to apply for any incremental credit. Although the process is very long (20 weeks) this has been a gamechanger for me. This extra credit skip was totally unexpected and not obviously signposted during the process of applying.

Just interested in this as my application for DF&TS is now 6 weeks in. Was anyone successful in having accreditation in the new subject accepted? I should meet all the criteria as set out, my degree is in Theatre and Film Studies and I taught GCSE and BTEC Drama in the UK for 15 years. Thanks for any input.

I got confirmation of my incremental pay today which is 14 and a half weeks after paper work was acknowledged by The Dep of Education. This is a great improvement on the last time I waited 20 weeks. Also will be in my 11th June pay. I submitted Feb 13th if that gives an indication to anyone currently waiting.

Hi, has anyone who is a qualified Post Primary teacher subbed while the Primary Schools are open in June? I have a primary payroll number already and tbh would rather work for a few days even if I get taxed most of it. I know I would only be paid at an unqualified rate, but has anyone on here done this, and is it worth the hassle of having Post Primary and Primary Payroll paying you at the same time?
