Vudu bundles are HD only, but Apple will port 4Ks for the movies available.
I think Apple version have a few minor differences like an older A Star is Born rather than the most recent remake.

Lionsgate porting does upgrade to the highest purchased. You need to disconnect and reconnect
I had these in HD on Vudu and 4K on iTunes. They were still HD. I disconnected and reconnected and they all upgraded to 4K.
You can also easily see on your purchase history what upgraded.
Any same quality ports will be backlisted by their purchase date.
