Sargent Slaughter appears on FNSNWJF instead of Gutfeld by accident

Sargent Slaughter appears on FNSNWJF instead of Gutfeld by accident

Not sure if anyone caught this, but there was a rare reference to "Gutfeld!" on last night's episode of Fox News Saturday Night with Jimmy Failla at around the time when special guest Sargent Slaughter was introduced.

In case it wasn't clear, after they embrace, his first line that the audience can actually understand is "Jimmy! Jimmy! Are you taking Greg's place? They told me I was on the Gutfeld show!" After the laughter died down, he continued - "oh, he thought he was on last night" (?). Jimmy finally fired back with, "well, you must've liked that, because you walked out here and you looked at me like 'why is this guy so f****** tall'?"

It didn't stop there, however, because the sargent continued - "I saw Tom there, and he's always on the Gutfeld show." Failla finally deflected to a joke about seating Slaughter farther away from Mrs. Failla, and that was enough to change the topic. It was a possibly a bit on the awkward side, but perhaps I was reading too much into it.

I don't watch FNSN every week, but this is the first time I've ever heard Gutfeld called out like that before. But as always, "what say you," viewing audience?

Kat says the quiet part out loud in unseasonably-good guest hosting effort

It's been speculated before, and perhaps this was just a coincidence or a slip, but I'm not sure how else to explain it.

To recap - "A record one in three gen-z and young Millennials are still living with their parents," Kat states in her monologue. "...probably because someone has to teach mom & dad how to work the DVR." Ok, that's not an outstanding joke, but actually not horrible either. Kat continues - "But here's the important part: they're not all sitting around their childhood bedroom writing fanmail to the man who might be their real father." Cue the side-by-side of a stock picture of Greg Gutfeld juxtaposed against Kat's live reaction.

😯😯😯

Maybe she really is secretly his child. Either way, I will go out on a limb and lend a rare compliment here - this was probably one of Mizz Timpf's best attempts yet at guest-hosting. Is the delivery still a bit stiff and unnatural? Yes. Does she have the same command over the panel as Greg or Tom? No. But there is a possibility that she takes at least some amount of constructive criticism to heart, and the flow between the panelists actually wasn't terrible last night. Some of the questions were even decent! So, while I'm normally the first to throw shade at a bad Kat performance, (of which there are plenty to choose from) for those of you who might've skipped this episode for that reason, give it a chance. You might just be surprised.

Tyrus: Democrats are "the party of pedophilia"

He's not wrong either. Once again, Tyrus hits us with the straight talk about the left.

"At some point, we have to realize that this is the party of pedophilia... no amount of money could ever get me to say in front of the world that he [referring to the child abuser pardoned by the governor of Minnesota] had [a bad day]. We know of [only] one [abused child]. No one ever does [just] one over a span of two years. This was [merely] the one who wouldn't take the money [and] who [caused the abuser] to get caught. He [Walz] is a pedophile sympathizer, so you're either one of them or willing to sell your dignity for a really big check, but we need to stop calling them stupid. That wasn't a stupid response; that was someone who was trying to justify being a pedophile."

I find it infinitely ironic that the left is first-in-line to throw around the "pedophile" accusation, when it's almost universally the left that wants to kill, mutilate, brainwash, abuse, (sexually and otherwise) and demoralize the children. It's almost like they're... projecting.

Tyrus nails it on the 'American dream'

I'm only through the first block of this episode, and understand that Tyrus isn't everyone's cup of tea, but his response to Kat's monologue is 1000% correct. See both the 7:16 and 7:17 clips for his full thoughts, but I'll highlight the big stuff here:

"We, as Americans, have very unrealistic goals sometimes. Like 'I want to move to the big city and buy a house.' Well, the cost of living is a lot higher there, but if you went to Wisconsin, you could get something. America has opportunities. The 'American Dream' is hard! It's not supposed to be easy. You have to do work. And then you hear people telling you about how impossible [it is with] Gavin Newsom telling you how capitalism doesn't work when his net worth is $30 million. I'm going to say that again [for emphasis]. 'Capitalism doesn't work, and my net worth is $30 million.' It works fine. He [Gavin Newsom] just doesn't want it to work for anyone else."

He goes on to explain that, "in America, we're spoiled. We'd rather have the newest iPhone. We'd rather have the biggest TV. [We'd rather have] the freshest car. And then you'll see that one guy who's driving the old car, who's saving his money, and then when he's 45... and he owns a home, we're like, 'fuck that guy' because we like the 'finer things' in life. The American dream is that you have to do work. And you're going to have setbacks and failures... but that's the American dream."

And we can always count on Kat to put a wet blanket over Tyrus's truth bomb in a (rare) contradiction to almost everything he just said, but if that wasn't one of the guy's best statements ever on the show, I don't know what is. I've been critical of him in the past, but between his reduced interruptions and not being afraid to lay down this level of truth, even with Kat hosting, you can color me impressed.

Is there actually a tangible and substantive difference in the driving experience between "luxury" offerings and mainstream models?

This question obviously assumes relative feature and performance parity, but with the quality being as high as it is today across the board, is there a meaningful measurable difference between the "nice" brands and mainstream brands? A limited-trim Hyundai Ioniq 5, for example, can be had with the same basic set of "nice" features as a decently-equipped Cadillac CT6 (ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, 360-degree camera, long wheelbase, high-performance powertrain, switchback turn signals, diode tails/brakelights/signals, camera-based inside mirror, up-level sound system, ornate & aggressive styling, etc., in addition to both offering a passive suspension system) despite there having been a $15000+ price delta between them brand-new (I realize that sales never overlapped these models when new, but they are at least relatively close, and there are other similar examples that do overlap).

Is it solely then down to complexity of the suspension system, driveline isolation, powertrain "refinement," and sound deadening? If so, are there any good objective numerical measurements of these attributes that any mainstream review outlets publish, or are we left to speculate and test drive for ourselves?

We hear you, Mr. Malice!

For those of you who might've missed this great community's callout on Friday's night episode, here's the clip.

During the Mailing it In segment, in which guests were asked about what their guilty pleasures were, Michael Malice admitted, "I never told anybody this, but I've got 100 fake Reddit accounts, and all I do is post about how much Kat sucks so she can be fired, so if there's a nasty comment on Reddit, it's from me, and I'm going to keep doing it."

This was, of course, (somewhat) eclipsed by the "who's a pretty girl?" comment heard 'round the world, but I can't help but tip my hat to the shoutout. Of course, we would never allow "nasty comments" here, (only constructive criticism) but I can certainly appreciate the energy.

Anybody else notice that and feel like he was speaking directly to us in that moment?
